Pennsylvania Determined To Quit Week - January 28 - February 1, 2008
The Pennsylvania Department of Health announced its latest effort to help the state's nearly two million smokers successfully quit, by revealing Governor Edward G. Rendell has pronounced the last week of January 2008 (Jan. 28 through Feb. 1) as "Determined to Quit Week." The proclamation was declared to help smokers continue their New Year's resolutions to quit smoking this year and to raise the general public awareness of ways smokers can seek help through free Pennsylvania resources such as 800-QUIT-NOW and DeterminedToQuit.com. The Department demonstrated the new Web site that was launched on December 31, 2007 at the Capitol Building in Harrisburg, PA during a press conference on Tuesday, January 29, 2008.
