For many people, faith-based organizations can be a valuable source of information and support to help quit smoking successfully. A year-long study among African Americans showed that people who smoke who received support from pastors and fellow churchgoers were twice as likely to make progress toward quitting as compared to those who only got a self-help pamphlet at their churches.

About Love Thy Neighbor
Love Thy Neighbor is a faith-based tobacco control program that helps African American people in Pennsylvania to quit smoking. Love Thy Neighbor works with participating churches throughout Pennsylvania to provide an intensive, 8-week quit smoking program. The program includes a comprehensive curriculum and support resources to help participants through the quit smoking process and achieve a tobacco-free life.
