It's two weeks into the New Year and Marcy has had a set back - she's smoking again. Using a prescription medication to cut her cravings only worked for the first week. Now, she's trying to ween herself off, which has been a struggle. The DeterminedToQuit.com tools, however, are helping track her progress and provide private support.

It's two days before Marcy begins her latest quit attempt. Cold turkey hasn't worked for her in the past, largely due to the stress and anxiety it added to her life. This year she'll be trying Chantix, a prescription medication.

Marcy currently smokes almost a pack of cigarettes a day and wants to quit. She's been smoking for over 20 years and attempts to quit each year around New Year's. Follow along with her latest attempt.
Smokeless tobacco is a known cause of mouth cancer, pancreatic cancer, leukoplakia (white sores in the mouth that can lead to cancer), receding gums and bone loss around the roots of the teeth.
